Pocketcalendars Typoteque.com

It's the second time I ordered the pocketcalendar sketchbook from typoteque.com designed by Peter Bilak.

The last years edition looked very nice and was easy to use. But after a couple of months the cover was starting to fall apart. I used tape to put it together.
The 2010 edition has a vinyl cover and hopefully this one stays beautiful and complete 'till the end of 2010.
I like the pocket calendar a lot because it is also a sketchbook too.

DUTCHDESIGNDATABASE.COM

I like this very much!

At this website you can upload your own work and the database shows 15.000 designs and make connections between works.
The Graphic Design Museum made it and visitors can see all the designs on their own way.

Door mat

Some weeks ago I received the door mat from the design magazine Items. Thonik made the door mat and it says in one line from one direction 'in' and from the other direction 'uit' (out).
When I saw it I immediately liked it.

The only problem with the mat is that it smells really badly. It's made from rubber and it's at the front door of my apartment. But that's inside so I hope the smell don't irritate my neighbors a lot. The smell is still there but not as badly as in the beginning.

I don't want to take it away from my front door so neighbors; 'I'm sorry!'

Dutch Design week >> Kröller Müller museum

I've made the plan yesterday to visit the Dutch Design week in Eindhoven. I've never went there so this year I really want to go.

But there where no trains between Amsterdam and Utrecht, so we borrowed a car. But while driving on the A2 we found out that the A2 was closed at 'knooppunt Deil'. We had to make a detour. But at both detours the traffic was stuck. After 1,5 hours and still not further than Zaltbommel, we decided to go to the Kröller Müller museum. We drove in the neighbourhood of Nijmegen, so why not! The weather was beautiful and perfect for a bike tour trough Park de Hoge Veluwe. It was a good alternative that day.

Meneer Jacques, Oswald Wenckebach

It was my second time at the museum. The collection is beautiful and the garden looked very nice during the sunny autumn day, but the interior (the halls and the restaurant) of the building gave my boyfriend and me the feeling that we where in a crematory. There could have done so much with the building and it's too bad that it looks like this.

I'm glad that I've seen the work of Umberto Boccioni again. I'm really fascinated of it because the first time I saw it in a book, it looks so big. But in real life it isn't.

For a law office I created a corporate indentity; logo, business cards, writing paper and a envelope.

Matrix

Two weeks ago I visited with Merlijn his grandmother and grandfather (91 and 94!!!! years old) in Eindhoven.

His grandfather told me he worked in the printing office at Philips. He showded me a real matrix. That's a mould for casting the letters who where used in letterpress printing.

He saved it al the time. Really nice!

KOEKOEK!

Since two weeks I'm the owner of a 'koekoeksklok'. It's an original one from Switserland.

The clock was from my grandfather who died 17 years ago.
Everytime I look at the clock, I want to drink a Jägermeister. *fruitcake*

Typografie_in_de_muur
